Wood, Foam and Velvet
These pillows are structured to help adolescence and young adults feel comfortable during therapy. They are designed to encourage people to open up about their mental health issues while feeling comforted by the sense of touch. This particular series is inspired by human structure; the bone construction is imitated by a wooden skeleton within the pillow while the cushioning represents flesh.
There are 5 individual pieces which complete the whole set - they imitate different parts of the human structure which help with giving emotional comfort to another. The body parts are, the lap, thighs, torso, shoulder and palm.
All the pieces are upholstered in different shades of 1/2 inch foam and blue velvet; the color blue is proven to be the most common calming color for individuals of all ages. Hence through this collection, the upholstery colors vary from lighter to darker blues as users will have different perspectives and comfort levels.
The shapes of The Succor are all imitations of different body parts; (from left to right) Thigh, Shoulder, Palm, Torso and Lap.
